George Clooney was born in Lexington, Kentucky. His mother, Nina Bruce, gave birth to him on May 6, 1961. She was a city councilwoman and a beauty queen. Nick Clooney, his father, is a former anchorman and television host, serving five years on the AMC network.
George Clooney has an Irish, English, and German ancestry. He has an older sister named Ada (or Adelia) while Rosemary Clooney, a cabaret singer and actress, was his aunt. His cousins include actors Gabriel Ferrer, Miguel Ferrer, and Rafael Ferrer, through Rosemary.
Raised as a strict Roman Catholic, Clooney expressed in 1998 that he did not know if he believed “in Heaven or even God”.
